I hold the Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Moral and Social Cognition at York University in Toronto.
From 2014 to 2017 I was Assistant Professor / Faculty Fellow at the NYU Center for Bioethics, and an affiliate faculty member in the Medical Ethics division of the NYU Department of Population Health.
From 2011 to 2014 I was a postdoctoral research fellow in Moral Cognition at Oxford, working on a project funded by the Volkswagen Stiftung. I was also a junior research fellow of Jesus College and affiliated to the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics and the Oxford Centre for Neuroethics.
In 2011 I completed a doctorate in philosophy at NYU. Before that I did research in neuroscience at MAXlab. As an undergraduate I studied philosophy, psychology, and computer science at Georgetown University. I have also been a visiting student at Sophia University in Tokyo, and at the Institut Jean Nicod in Paris.
